Dale and Tari Maxfied have been partners for over 36 years. During that time, they have raised five children with the youngest of them a senior at Prior Lake High School in Minnesota.


Dale Maxfield has spent that entire time in the restaurant industry developing and growing restaurant concepts. Sizzler Buffet & Grill, Hometown Buffet, Old Country Buffet, Raising Canes Chicken Fingers, and Golden Corral are concepts that Dale worked with and lead during critical times in their growth periods.


In 2014, Dale Maxfield left Golden Corral Corporate after eight years as Vice President Company Operations to become a Golden Corral franchisee. Maxfield Management Group LLC (MMG) was founded in 2014 by Dale and Tari Maxfield with goal of taking their experience and passion to build a family owned and operated Hospitality Company with multiple franchised restaurant concepts located in the Mid-west.


MMG currently operates Golden Corral Buffet & Grill restaurants in Davenport Iowa, Sioux City Iowa, Omaha Nebraska, Maple Grove Minnesota, Maplewood Minnesota and has one location under construction in Coon Rapids Minnesota.


MMG is actively looking to grow their company with addition of more locations within the Minneapolis market and throughout the Midwest.


With more than 40 years of success and 500 locations, Golden Corral is recognized as "America's #1 Buffet and Grill." The concept is a proven winner with high value, family orientated lunch and dinner buffet served daily and breakfast every weekend.


The Family Dining segment of the Top 100 Restaurants is a $12.4 Billion Industry and Golden Corral has $1.7 Billion of that with average unit volumes above $3.4 million.


Dale and Tari currently operate five Golden Corrals in the Midwest. Infrastructure is in place to grow from five units to eight restaurants. MMG is looking at markets in Minnesota expand their family owned business.

Golden Corral serves over 100 freshly prepared items in a buffet layout allowing customers to serve themselves to their favorite items. The variety of items make Golden Corral the perfect restaurant for families or groups. Golden Corral offers senior pricing and has Early Bird pricing which is effective at driving senior sales to slower meal periods.


Golden Corral is the only buffet concept within the Top 100 chains with average restaurant volume over $3.5 million per unit. The second largest buffet operator in restaurant industry, Ovation Brands has filed bankruptcy for the third time and has closed over 180 locations creating a huge opportunity for Golden Corral.

Competitive Advantage

Golden Corral had system wide sales in 2015 of $1.735 billion with average unit volumes of $3,465 million making them the largest within the Family Dining segment. Golden Corral has over 500 units across the country.
